Weekly Gratitude
I can’t believe this is already the third week of my Weekly Gratitude posts! Time really does fly by and while I’m usually wishing away the weekdays so I can take advantage of the relaxation and opportunities that weekends provide, I need to remember to really appreciate each and every day I have. The days at the job I love, in the city I love, and most importantly - with the people I...
Dad vs. Bill Gates
I got this tweet from Rozz this morning. I don’t see it but if Dad and Bill turn out to be long lost brothers who were separated at birth, can I get in on some of that Bill Gates inheritance?
The Tweet:
The Match-Up:
All Aboard: Nutella Banana Bread Bandwagon
I had a case of the sads all day yesterday. No reason…just one of those down days. In an effort to try to change my mood, or at least forget that I was even IN a mood, I decided to bake. Baking has a calming effect on me.
Enter: Nutella Banana Bread
There has been a Nutella craze in the blogosphere that may or may not have been started single handedly by V-Neck and a Cardigan. Every...

100 Best Movies of All Time: by James
**UPDATE**
In my haste to type up James’ list, I typed some of the movie names incorrectly. HOLY MOLY MOVIE LOVERS! You people are relentless :)
I know, I know…it’s The Godfather (not God Father) and clearly I incorrectly typed Lost Boyz because it should have been The Lost Boys (I got confused by Boyz in the Hood…sheesh). To my defense…I’ve never seen...

M-M-M-Mexico
This weekend was packed full of fun stuff, work stuff, and surprise stuff! I attended the Wedding Library Party at The Palace Hotel on Saturday. I had to go for work purposes but that didn’t stop me from entering all the different raffles they had for brides-to-be. Well guess what…
I WON!
I won a vacation stay at the Maroma Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya, Mexico! This is amazing...

Weekly Gratitude
A smorgasbord of gratitude wrapped up in bullet point form and a few pictures to boot…
I’m thankful for a crafty mom who taught me how to be crafty, resourceful, and handy with a hot glue gun (I had to make a hair bow for a ballet recital).
I’m thankful for a father who taught me how to drive in snowy/icy conditions of upstate New York. I drove to work this morning with no...

Bright and Cheerful
If you’re currently in NY, you certainly understand that days like today require a positive attitude and a willingness to look for the bright and cheerful things around you.
James and I were out east for the weekend (it was his Mom’s 60th birthday) so naturally, a trip to Target was in the cards. I picked up this adorable picture frame that now graces my desk at work.
I also...
Weekly Gratitude
I’m grateful for a lot of things, both big and small…
For a job that allows me to do something I truly love and enjoy…
For a boyfriend who is funny and sweet…
For the opportunity to attend event industry parties in great venues like the New York Public Library (this was last night)…
for the hope and tools available to me to meet new goals…
And...

Kitchen Injuries 101
I got my first kitchen injury this week and the first thought I had was that I should call Jordan Reid for advice on how to care for my wound!
I made a little slip-up while slicing an onion. I can’t recall the exact timeline of events that followed the trauma because I may have blacked-out momentarily. I do, however, know that there was a lot of screaming (“OMGah! OMGah! I cut my...

My Big Bearded Manly Boyfriend...
Is currently singing Taylor Swift “Love Story” at the top of his lungs.
Pretty cute.
You will never believe this...
This is for real.
This is not a joke.
This is really Em typing this.
I don’t like the new single by Miss Spears.
It actually makes me upset that I can only picture Jersey Shore fist-pumping when I hear it.
Someone break out Lucky or Stronger to try to salvage any damage done. PLEASE!!

Weekly Gratitude
Whether the platform is Tumblr, WordPress, or Blogger, all of my beloved blog friends are helpful, interesting, beautiful, and most of all - INSPIRING!
Miss Tatiana over at Love, Live, Lace has decided to carry on a gratitude movement that I see people joining all over the place. Emily, over at Cupcakes and Cashmere, recently started focusing on things she’s grateful for and she posts...

Dear Makinsley
I promise to…
Sneak you candy when Mom and Dad have already said no
Take you to any Disney pop starlet concert you want to go to
Read you my favorite childhood book, Growing Strong Inside
Teach you about music from the good old days (i.e. Britney Spears)
French braid your hair and let you play with my make up
Give you the coolest pair of red ruby slippers
Make forts with you out of...
Letting Christmas Go...
I can’t seem to get myself to take the Christmas decorations down. Doing so signifies that my favorite time of year has come to an end and what lies in the near future is nothing but a bitter cold winter that will likely last deep into April. Something about Christmas makes the snow and cold a lot more bearable.
I suppose I’ll share these pictures and call it the official end of...

Unpopular Opinon - January 4th, 2011
I hate both cilantro and rosemary. Separately and especially together (gross!). And for the record, I don’t like whole basil leaves either (yet I do like pesto and basil flavored things - just not the whole leafe itself).
